The Swiss Beach Tour was born in 1993, created by Guwa Sports Management as the Official National Beach Volleyball Circuit in Switzerland of the Swiss Volleyball Federation.
The Swiss Beach Tour has the highest level of participating teams and organizational standards, and include the Swiss Championships as the national highlight of each year’s season.
In 2000, more than 120,000 on-site spectators followed live the 6 stops of the tour which reached over 2.4 milion people through TV, 5.8 milion through radio and 39.5 milion through the newspapers.
The stops of the Swiss Beach Tour (since 2000 Coop Beachtour) are held in the heart of Swiss cities’ downtown and transform “very traditional city squares” in spectacular beaches, with stadium, VIP lounges, stands and catering zones in an incredibly short time.
